LABELMATE Burster Bar Splits Perforated Tags
The LABELMATE BURST-180 Burster Bar provides a means of splitting and rewinding perforated paper or plasticized tags and labels used in the lumber and other industries. Unfortunately, slitters don't work well for this application as the cutting blades tend to get caught on the edges of the tag and cause uneven cuts or other problems. Now, LABELMATE has an inexpensive solution for use in conjunction with a CAT-2-CHUCK Label Rewinder.
The LABELMATE BURST-180 Burster Bar can be installed directly onto the CAT-2-CHUCK Rewinder in a matter of minutes. Two smooth Bursting Rods extend 180-mm (7") across the label path. The labels or tags to be burst can come from either a printer or from a label unwinder. The tags are threaded over and under the Bursting Rods and onto individual rewind cores on the CAT-2-CHUCK. To make removal of the burst rolls easy, use Label Separator Plates in between the rewound rolls.
In "off-line" applications using a Label Unwinder, bursting can be done at maximum rewind speed. In "in-line" applications at the output of the printer, the CAT-2-CHUCK Rewinder will track the speed of the printer and burst and rewind the tags as they come out of the printer. The BURST-180 Burster Bar can be mounted on the CAT-2-CHUCK for either left-hand or right-hand operation and can be left in place when doing normal label rewinding.

The BURST-180 Burster Bar is easily mounted on the CAT-2-CHUCK Rewinder using the top two Screws on the Motor Panel. Thread the individual strips of tags alternatively over and under the Burster Bars and onto the individual Rewind cores. Use Separator Plates between the Rewind Cores to keep the rolls aligned. Use two metal Separator Plates, one on the inside and one on the outside, and plastic Separator Plates in between the rolls.
