The Verifone PCCharge Virtual Terminal™, which is shipped with every Verifone PCCharge Development Kit, enables you to process transactions from any computer with an Internet connection and a Web browser. The Verifone PCCharge Virtual Terminal can be used with Verifone PCCharge Payment Server to replace standard authorization terminals and will allow you to provide an easy solution for merchants who manually enter credit card transactions for mail or telephone order sales. The Virtual Terminal can also be integrated into storefront applications to provide a payment solution for developers who build eCommerce sites for merchants.

Virtual Terminal is the ideal solution for business because it removes the complexity and expense normally associated with authorizing and processing credit card transactions. It is flexible because it has Internet and dial capabilities for credit card transactions. An Internet connection is much faster than standard dial-up authorization systems. For merchants who use a credit card processor without an Internet connection, our Verifone PCCharge Payment Server also provides a dial up connection. This kind of flexibility cannot be offered with an Internet only service!

Why pay gateway service fees from service providers such as Authorize.net or Cybercash when you can access the credit card processing networks directly from PCCharge Payment Server running on your own web site?

If you are an ISP or a Merchant Services Provider with a Web site, you can easily create an application that will allow access to Verifone PCCharge Virtual Terminal through your Web site using any industry standard Web browser. Merchants can access the complete range of credit card processing services. This includes authorizations for purchases, credits and returns, settlements, reports, and much more.

To authorize credit card transactions, the merchant simply completes the provided electronic form that provides the Verifone PCCharge Virtual Terminal with the information it needs to complete the transaction. This information is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and sent to Verifone PCCharge Payment Server on your web site. The server then sends the data through the authorization network to the appropriate card issuer's bank over a secure Internet connection or through a dial up connection. When the process is complete, in about four to five seconds, the merchant receives an authorization number, and the Verifone PCCharge Payment Server stores the transaction. Transactions are automatically settled with host-based processors or the merchant settles at the end of the day for terminal based processors.
