AML CommandLink is a Windows compatible development tool that enables the rapid design, testing, and deployment of wireless local area network (WLAN) applications for the AML M7100 Series wireless terminals. AML CommandLink also provides the tools you need to manage and monitor your wireless network, once your applications are deployed. AML CommandLink is comprised of three modules - the AML CL Developer, AML CL Administrator, and AML CL Communicator.
AML CommandLink CL Developer
The AML CL Developer is an integrated visual programming environment where developers can visually design wireless data collection applications. AML CL Developer allows users to interface interactively with an existing ODBC or OLE DB database. To create a new application, simply select the appropriate database field, then drag-and-drop the field to the desired position on the screen form. The newly designed form will appear on the AML wireless terminal as it does in the CL Developer. Simple wireless applications can be built in minutes.AML CL Developer offers many advanced features including data validation, object oriented development, user-defined field properties, and an application simulator- where you can run and test your application before deployment. For more complex applications, developers can extend the functionality of CommandLink applications using VBScript (Visual Basic) scripting language. The CL Developer also features an event-based architecture that runs your scripts in response to specific user actions.
AML CommandLink CL Administrator
The AML CL Administrator controls user accounts and access - ensuring that personnel do not access unauthorized applications. The CL Administrator allows system administrators to create new user accounts, delete existing users, edit user account properties, and authorize user access to specific applications.AML CommandLink CL Communicator
The AML CL Communicator controls the communication and interaction between mobile terminals and database server backends. The CL Communicator displays system status, retrieves connection information, and allows administrators to view error and activity logs. The CL Communicator also controls the number of users connected to the network.
